Janice Boren - HSE Manager, Ideal Tridon Group

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TV SHOW? Janice is a big K-Drama fan! She enjoys watching the Korean TV shows with a group of friends and is fascinated by the cultural differences. She prefers watching them in Korean with subtitles vs. a dubbed English version – “it really draws you in.”

FUN FACT: Janice, her husband, and her two sons all attended the same college: Middle Tennessee State University.

As the Ideal Tridon Group's HSE Manager, Janice Boren leads a busy life making sure all our employees go home exactly how they came to work – with all their fingers and toes. Janice started her career with Ideal Tridon working in the Packaging department on 2^nd shift while she attended MTSU for her B.S. in Industrial Technology Management. Her passion for safety has been the driving force for her entire career, from starting Ideal Tridon's very first HSE program in the 1980s to earning her M.S. in Safety. She loves teaching people how to protect themselves and others around them.

Her day-to-day is jam-packed with meetings and training sessions to ensure that safety is our top priority in every process, every time. She is responsible for maintaining Ideal Tridon's ISO 14001 certification, our Tennessee Green Star Partnership, and handles all the reporting for any health, safety, or environmental compliance standards we must meet. She says that one of the biggest challenges she faces in her position is how safety is never 100% - there is always room for improvement. Janice, however, doesn't stray from the challenge. She enjoys being able to work with nearly every department to help solve problems and complete a variety of activities each day.

When she isn't busy keeping our employees safe, Janice enjoys making homemade greeting cards, hiking, and looking after her koi pond. Janice has two grown sons, a 5-year-old grandson, and a Schnauzer named Ziggy. Together her family enjoys playing frisbee golf and they are looking forward to their annual family trip – this year, they are headed to Florida.
